Antoine Badaoui is a Research Associate on the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship project at the School of Criminology, Sociology and Social Policy, University of Leicester, where he leads research across the France–Lebanon strand. He is also an Associate Researcher with the Centre for Middle Eastern Studies (NEOM) at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF) in Brazil. Antoine is a qualitative researcher whose work has previously focused on non-profit organisations, social media and LGBTQI+ advocacy. He holds a PhD in Media and Communication from the University of Leicester, and his previous research has explored how LGBTQI+ communities in Lebanon use and experience social media. His broader interests centre on forced migration, inclusion, social justice and LGBTQI+ rights.
