LGBT Health and Wellbeing is a Scottish charity, which was founded in 2003 by community members with a vision of a Scotland where every LGBTQ+ person can thrive. Its work builds on a longer history of community care, including the Lothian Gay and Lesbian Switchboard, established by LGBTQ+ activists in 1974 and later incorporated into LGBT Health and Wellbeing’s services. Today, the organisation supports LGBTQ+ people across Scotland through affirming, community-based services designed to promote wellbeing, connection and confidence. Its work includes community-led groups, wellbeing activities, information and signposting, one-to-one and group-based emotional support, and accredited counselling for those who need more structured assistance. Alongside direct support, LGBT Health and Wellbeing also advocates for a Scotland where LGBTQ+ people can live well, access appropriate support and participate fully in their communities.
